Since I was a nipper I have loved the written word

Note the photographic evidence here, I was a toddler nerd

When I was young, this was not an issue

Everyone clapped and said ‘It’s educational!

Better on the Blyton than sniffing glue

Perhaps she won’t steal cars if she is reading Camus’

But my oh my how times have changed

Now people look at me like I am deranged

Just cos I loiter in Waterstones sniffing the books

Reading while walking and getting bad looks

Then I joined Facebook and things got worse

Plagued my crew with essays about this and that verse

They said, ‘woman this obsession must be contained a bit

Facebook’s for cat videos, not this sh*t’

So my family and friends they staged an intervention

Told me to create a blog to avoid medication

So here it is, virtual pen to virtual paper

All about what I’m reading and other bookish capers
